Reading Strategy Saturdays- Is a program for parents and children to learn Common Core reading comprehension strategies together. Each Saturday of the month will focus on a specific reading strategy to provide parents and children a hands on experience with how and when best to apply these strategies. Summer Literacy Program- We offer summer program that addresses phonics, reading fluency, comprehension strategies, and the writing process. The goal of this program is to promote literacy among children, particularly during the summer months to combat "summer slide". Participants are required to read a certain number of books and complete accompanying journals (age-based). Prizes are given out as rewards for completing these journals. At the end of the program, students will receive a reading certificate to memorialize their accomplishments.
